“And God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.’” – Genesis 1:29

Yes, you can buy premade smoothies from the store or order from a restaurant, but they are often filled with unhealthy fats, sugars and additives that are detrimental to your health goals. Crazy, but true!

Additives are used to enhance the appearance, texture, and flavor of a product, as well as extending it's shelf life.

A few additives to watch for are Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), Sodium Nitrite, Artificial Food Coloring, High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Artificial Sweeteners, Trans Fat, Sodium Benzoate,  Xanthan Gum, Yeast Extract, and Artificial Flavoring.

Just make a habit of reading ingredient labels and do your best to reduce the amount of processed and packaged foods you consume. Replace those processed and packaged foods with real, raw, fresh ingredients.

A good way to accomplish this goal is to simply eat anything that comes from the ground, trees, plants or animals and do your best to minimize eating anything packaged.

One of the best ways do accomplish this goal is to make home made, fresh smoothies. I love all kids of smoothies. A few of my favorites are: Triple Berry, Almond Crunch, Chocolate Strawberry Bliss and my super easy Go-To Green Smoothie.

If you are looking for an easy, delicious, smoothie that packs in nutrients, protein, and flavor, you should try my no-fail, homemade recipe: 1 Cup Ice, 3 Cups Raw Spinach, 1 Cup Frozen Pineapple, 2 Scoops Protein or Collagen Powder, 1/2 Avocado and blend with 2 cups Cold Water. Enjoy!!

I always feel so energized and healthy after drinking this Green Smoothie. I hope you try it and enjoy it. Your body crazes nutrients to thrive.  Give your body what it needs to succeed at optimal levels. Cheers!
